At TechIfAI, we are committed to protecting your privacy and building trust through transparent data practices. This Privacy Policy explains how FocusGrinder™ collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information.
Our Core Promise: We will NEVER sell your personal data. All data collected is used solely to provide and improve the FocusGrinder service and our AI models.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data (including email and login credentials) to provide your account and deliver the FocusGrinder service. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract — specifically, the agreement you enter into when creating an account and using our service.
In plain terms: We need your email to create and manage your account, send you transactional emails about your service, and authenticate your logins. Without this data, we cannot provide the service.
Data We Collect
Data Minimization Principle: We only collect data that is strictly necessary to provide our service. We do not collect unnecessary personal information.
Account Information (Required)
- •Email address: For account creation, authentication, and transactional communications
- •Password: Securely hashed using bcrypt (industry-standard), never stored in plain text
- •Name and Date of Birth: For personalization and age verification
Security: All data is transmitted over TLS (HTTPS) and stored with encryption at rest.
Sensitive Focus Session Data
- •Facial Recognition Data: Camera captures are used to detect your presence and attention level during focus sessions. This data is processed in real-time and is NOT stored on our servers.
- •Screen Share Data: Screenshots of your screen are analyzed to determine focus status. This data is processed in real-time and is NOT stored on our servers.
- •Session Analytics: Duration, productivity scores, on-task/off-task metrics, and timeline data are stored to provide you with session history and insights.
Important: Your camera and screen share data are processed by our AI models in real-time only and are immediately discarded after analysis. We do NOT store, retain, or archive any images, video frames, or screenshots from your focus sessions. Only anonymized session metrics (duration, focus scores, timestamps) are saved. We do NOT use any data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than improving your productivity and our service.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers, CVV, or complete payment details on our servers. We only receive confirmation of payment status and a Stripe customer ID for subscription management.
How We Use Your Data
Service Delivery
To provide real-time focus tracking, generate productivity analytics, and deliver personalized insights about your work patterns.
AI Model Improvement
Aggregated and anonymized data may be used to improve our AI models' accuracy in detecting focus states. This helps us provide better service to all users.
Communication
To send you important service updates, security notifications, and (with your consent) product announcements.
Email Communication Policy
- •Transactional Emails Only: Account verification, password resets, security alerts, and service status updates. These are clearly labeled and do not contain promotional content.
- •Marketing/Promotional Emails: Only sent if you explicitly opt-in. You can opt-out at any time via account settings or email unsubscribe links.
- •No Third-Party Marketing: We never share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.
We Never:
- • Sell your personal data to third parties
- • Use your data for targeted advertising
- • Share your facial or screen data with external parties
- • Create profiles for purposes other than providing our service
- • Send promotional emails without your explicit consent
Data Storage & Retention
Security Measures

We will respond to all data requests within 30 days. No fees or complicated procedures required.
Age Requirement
FocusGrinder is intended for users aged 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 13 years of age in compliance with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).
Users between 13-17 years of age may use FocusGrinder. We collect date of birth during account creation to verify age eligibility.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@techif.ai and we will promptly delete such information.
International Data Transfers
TechIfAI is based in the United States. If you are accessing FocusGrinder from outside the US, please be aware that your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
We implement appropriate safeguards for international data transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using FocusGrinder, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
Account Responsibilities

FocusGrinder is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. TechIfAI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of any significant changes that affect your use of the service.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts under the following legal bases:
- 1.Contract:If our Terms allow termination (e.g., for policy violations, abuse, or extended inactivity), closing the account is "necessary for a contract." By using FocusGrinder, you agree that we may terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Use.
- 2.Legitimate Interests:Running a safe, secure service (including spam prevention, fraud detection, security threats, and compliance with platform policies) can justify account removal. We perform a balancing test: weighing our legitimate need to maintain service integrity against any impact on your rights. Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to appeal before permanent termination.
- 3.Legal Obligation:We may be required to remove or disable accounts to comply with applicable laws, court orders, subpoenas, or official requests from law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
Your Right to Terminate: You may delete your own account at any time through your Account Settings. Upon deletion, all your data including session history, preferences, and any active subscriptions will be permanently removed. Subscription charges will be canceled immediately with no further billing.
